Cheat sheet of some of the most important new features in iOS 17

New lock screen widgets: iOS 17 introduces a new type of lock screen widget that's interactive. This means you can tap items in the widget to interact with the apps they're connected to without opening the app.  

Standby mode: iOS 17 introduces a new standby mode that makes your iPhone's battery last longer.  

When you put your iPhone in standby mode, it will turn off the display and most other features, but it will still be able to receive notifications and make calls. 

Improved keyboard: iOS 17 has an improved keyboard that's more accurate and easier to use. 

Autocorrect is now more effective at finding and replacing misspelled words, and the keyboard also includes a new haptic feedback feature that makes typing feel more responsive. 

Live Text improvements: iOS 17 includes improvements to Live Text, which allows you to interact with text in the real world through your camera. 

You can now use Live Text to translate text, identify objects, and even copy and paste text from the real world into your iPhone. 

New features for Focus: iOS 17 introduces a new way to manage your Focus modes. You can now create custom Focus modes, and you can also link Focus modes to specific lock screens and home screens.

New Messages features: iOS 17 includes a number of new features for Messages, such as the ability to edit or recall sent messages, mark messages as unread, and collaborate on shared documents.

New Mail features: iOS 17 includes a number of new features for Mail, such as the ability to schedule emails, undo send, and create rich links.

New Maps features: iOS 17 includes a number of new features for Maps, such as the ability to see multi-stop public transit directions, create custom travel guides, and share live locations with friends.

New Safari features: iOS 17 includes a number of new features for Safari, such as the ability to group tabs, share tab groups with others, and create custom extensions.
