Chapter 1: Matter in Surroundings
This chapter explains the physical nature of matter including matter is composed of particles & the sizes of the particles. This further explains the characteristics of particle that makes up matter e.g. they have space, they move with some kinetic energy, they attract one another. All the three states of matter are well explained. Furthermore, this chapter also explains why the state of the matter remains inter-convertible. The state of matter is changed through changing pressure or temperature.
Chapter 2: Is Matter Around-Us Pure
This chapter explains every kind of substance, whether it’s pure or a mixture of 2 or more substances that are pure. Heterogeneous and Homogeneous mixture & their properties are more asked in class 9 school exams. In this chapter, we will learn about how many kinds of solutions are there, and the preparation process. The student will also learn how to find a concentration of a solution and after that, they will understand about Suspension & Colloidal.
Chapter 3: Atoms & Molecules
Chapter 3 explains the Law of Chemical-Combination, Law of Constant-Proportion, and Law of Mass Conservation. In this chapter, the student will learn that Atoms & Molecules are essential building blocks to all matter. Moreover, the student will also learn what is an atom? What are the modern or ancient symbols of atoms? How big are atoms?
Chapter 4: Atom Structure
Chapter 4 is all about sub-atomic particles including proton – p, electron – e, and neutron – n. This chapter also explains the different steps of finding the structure of atoms & their subparts. Moreover, in chapter 4, the student will also learn about Valency, Mass numbers, Atomic-Number, and their correlation to each other. The difference between Isobars and Isotopes will also be studied.
Chapter 5: Fundamental Unit-of-Life
Fundamental Unit-of-Life is connected to Biology. This chapter explains cells and Cell structure. All animal & plant cells will be explained using diagrams. Structural cell organization, Plasma membrane & its phenomena with Hypotonic, Isotonic, & Hypertonic solutions will also be explained.
Chapter 6: Tissues
This chapter is about Tissues & different tissue types. Questions are normally asked in Olympiad also. The differences between animal & plant tissue are also well explained using well-illustrated diagrams for a better understanding. Animal tissues cover topics that are related to Epithelial-tissue (protective/covering tissue), Muscular tissue, Connective tissue & Nervous tissue.
Chapter 7: Living Organism Diversity
Chapter 7 explains the classification of animals and plants. Students will understand that every living organism is classified into 5-kingdoms which include Monera, Fungi, Protista, Plantae, & Animalia. This also explains the classification & evolution, and classification hierarchy.
Chapter 8: Motion
This chapter explains motion, speed using direction, velocity change rate, graphical representation of motion. Furthermore, students will also get three motion equations & numerical problems.
Chapter 9: Force & Laws of Motion
Chapter 9 concentrates on balanced & unbalanced forces. Afterward, it includes the impact of Friction-force & Inertia. In this chapter, students will learn the First law of motions & Inertia of the body, the second law of motion with the law of momentum conservation. After that, there are numerous reasoning questions based on the Third-law of motion for the student to understand.
Chapter 10: Gravitation
Here, the students will study the universal gravitation law & its significance, mass, free fall, weight, pressure & thrust, Archimedes’ principle & relative density.
Chapter 11: Work & Energy
Here, the student will be taught scientific work conception & various kinds of energy. This chapter includes numerous numerical thus mathematical skills are needed. The numerical is very simple when one understands them & practices them every day. Questions dependent on constant force & uniform motions are provided as intext questions for practice. In this chapter, mechanical energy is divided into 2 kinds as Kinetic Energy & Potential Energy.
Chapter 12: Sound
This chapter deals with the production & motion of sound. This chapter includes explains the sound journey from its source to the ears. Other concepts explained in this chapter include echo, sound wave propagation, reverberation, etc. Here the student will also learn about the characteristic of a longitudinal wave or sound wave & Compression and Rarefaction concepts with Frequency. Softness, Amplitude, Intensity, Loudness, Low & High Pitch of sound waves & Speed of sound will also be studied.
Chapter 13: Why Do We-Fall Ill
Chapter 13 explains health issues & various kinds of diseases. Topics covered are Health & its failure, disease, causes of disease, and infectious diseases. With this chapter, the students will be aware of various kinds of diseases for them to be careful. The principle of cure and treatment of disease will also be studied.
Chapter 14: Natural Resources
This chapter majorly concentrates on the Natural Resources that are available on Earth. The topics which are covered are the role of the atmosphere in climate control, the appearance of places of low & high pressure, a direction where airflow at night/day, what causes rain & means of pollution. The student will also study about availability of water-resources & the ways of prevention from pollutions. Lastly, the student will also learn about biochemical-cycles including the water cycle, nitrogen cycle, oxygen cycle, carbon cycle, & greenhouse effect.
Chapter 15: Improvement in Food-Resources
Chapter 15 offers the student with knowledge of nutrients which is supplied by air, soil, and water. Insights to crop production & production management, nutritional food value, fertilizers, storage of grains, manure, fish production, animal husbandry, irrigation, poultry farming, cropping pattern, and beekeeping practices.
