NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Maths: NCERT solutions are meant to assist students to understand concepts easily and as a result, they excel in their exams. The solutions are arranged chapter-wise and after every chapter, the student will get exercise questions for practicing the concepts which they have learned. Below is a highlight of the chapters covered in class 8 maths.

NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Maths Chapter Wise

Chapter 1: Rational Numbers

Chapter one will help the student grasp the concept of integers, real integers properties, rational numbers, & whole numbers. Moreover, the student will also study the way rational numbers are represented on a number line. They will be able to search rational numbers that are in between any of the provided two rational numbers with the help of this chapter.

Chapter 2: Linear Equations in Variable

This chapter deals with linear-expression in a single variable alone. This kind of equation is understood as Linear Equations. In this chapter, the student will find six exercises with a total of 65 questions. Moreover, the chapter includes various concepts including solving Linear Equations in One-Variable, its applications, simplifying equations to a simpler form & word problems that are related to Linear-Equations in One Variable.

Chapter 3: Understanding Quadrilaterals

This chapter helps the student have a proper understanding of quadrilaterals. Furthermore, the chapter also covers various varieties of polygons, including quadrilaterals, triangles, hexagons, pentagons, etc. This chapter has a total of four exercises that helps the students understand shapes properly.

Chapter 4: Practical Geometry

The practical Geometry chapter includes a method of constructing quadrilaterals with different parameters. This chapter has 5 exercises and deals with various ways of constructing quadrilateral. The first exercise in this chapter deals with quadrilateral construction when the length of 4-sides & a diagonal are provided. Exercise 2 involves ways of quadrilaterals construction when 2 diagonals & 3 sides are provided, and so on. With this chapter, the students will be well-versed in every quadrilateral concept for more classes.

Chapter 5: Data Handling

This chapter teaches the students about data organization & data representation. Organizing data in an orderly method is known as Data Handling. Here, the students will learn how to represent data diagrammatically in pictograph, double bar-graph, bar graph, pie chart & histogram. Furthermore, in chapter 5, the students will be briefed on concepts of likelihood and probability.

Chapter 6: Squares & Square Roots

This chapter assists the students to understand the concept of square root and square of a number. Furthermore, this chapter also deals with square numbers properties, interesting patterns which are learned with the help of square numbers, finding square, square roots, Pythagorean triplets through various ways, Square roots of decimals numbers, etc.

Chapter 7: Cubes & Cube Roots

Here, the student will be introduced to cubes & cube roots. Additionally, the students will get to understand the properties & patterns which are related. Here, the student will learn how to find cubes of various numbers, interesting a pattern that’s learned using cubes & finding cube roots.

Chapter 8: Comparing Quantities

Chapter eight helps the students learn the comparison that’s there in between the rise & decrease of percentages, sales value, market value, discount, etc. Here, the students will learn significant concepts that are used in our everyday life which is Interest. Moreover, the students will learn on simple interest, compound interest, calculated quarterly, half-yearly, yearly, or monthly. This chapter has three practice exercises that help the students understand the concept of Comparing-Quantities.

Chapter 9: Algebraic Expressions & Identities

Here, the student will learn terms, coefficients, and factors related to Algebraic-Expressions. There will be a brief on the basics of binomials, monomials & polynomials. Here, the students will learn the addition, multiplication, and subtraction of Algebraic Expression. Identity topics will also be covered. This chapter has 5 practice exercises.

Chapter 10: Visualizing Solid Shapes

Here, the students will learn the concepts of 3D geometry & visualize solid shapes in various dimensions. Other concepts learned here include edges, faces & vertices. Moreover, the student will be taught the way to map a solid shape in 3D. Among the major topics, a student will learn is Euler’s formula. The chapter needs rigorous practice with the exercise questions provided.

Chapter 11: Mensuration

Chapter 11 is meant to build students’ quadrilaterals & triangles concept because it deals with measuring the area of the figures. Also, the students will learn how to calculate the area & volume of cubes & cuboidal structures with various formulae.

Chapter 12: Exponents & Powers

Here, the students will learn various concepts which include powers that have negative exponents, exponents laws, use of exponents in expressing numbers in standard comparison, and the form of very large numbers using small numbers.

Chapter 13: Direct & Inverse Proportions

This chapter has two exercises that entail questions dependent on direct proportion & inverse proportion. 2 quantities x & y are direct proportions if they decrease or increase together in a way that their corresponding ratio values are constant. Two quantities x & y are inverse proportion when a rise in x creates a proportional reduction in y (& vice-versa) where the product of corresponding values is constant.

Chapter 14: Factorization

Here the students will learn how to do Factorization. Topics covered here include factors of natural-numbers & algebraic expressions, factorization through regrouping terms, factorization utilizing identities. Chapter 14 also deals with algebraic expressions division which includes division of two monomials, division of a polynomial by a monomial, etc.

Chapter 15: Introduction to Graphs

Here, the students will learn how to represent various kinds of data using various varieties of graphs. Different kinds of graphs include pie graphs, bar graphs, line graphs & linear graphs. This chapter also helps the students in understanding the way they can locate a point & coordinate at a graph.

Chapter 16: Playing with Numbers

This chapter has an extensive genre of numbers explained in detail & the students can use concepts to justify the divisibility test.
